The American Counter Insurgent Supportive blogosphere is full of frustrated patriots who in an earlier time would be serving as Air Raid Wardens, collecting scrap metal and organizing War Bond rallies. President Bush, IMHO, deliberately chose not to mobilize the American people, fearing an economic downturn after the attack on the nation’s financial center and an infuriated Jacksonian disproportionate thermonuclear response against most of the Muslim world. He told us to go shopping instead. And the economy didn’t tank, then, but the desire of millions of energized and motivated citizens to do something was thwarted, so some of us mobilized ourselves.
