“Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE) Chief Executive Josef Ackermann cancelled his appearance at a discussion round at the university of Mannheim in southwest Germany on Tuesday due to concerns about his safety.

Ackermann was due to appear in front of about 400 guests at a university event themed ‘What have banks actually learned from the crisis’ on Tuesday night. But about an hour before the event, Ackermann’s security team called everything off.

A spokesman for Mannheim’s police said the cancellation was a reaction to their security evaluation, which had called for precautionary security measures to ensure Ackermann’s safety.”
