“A provincial Pakistani lawmaker was killed in a suicide attack at his home in the country’s northwestern Swat Valley, the first major blow to the area’s political leadership since militants were ousted this year.
The bomber blew himself as Shamsher Ali Khan greeted supporters on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, a Muslim festival celebrated on Nov. 28, according to the Edhi emergency service. Khan’s brother was critically injured, Mian Iftikar Hussain, Information Minister of the North-West Frontier Province, told reporters. No group claimed responsibility for the attack. “
